Is Sky Rojo renewed for season 4 on Netflix?

Álex Pina is behind a handful of shows but many became aware of his talents with the arrival of Money Heist, a crime drama series that swiftly became a phenomenon and spawned a Halloween costume that will stick around for generations. While plenty of audiences continue to flock to it, he’s since established a new fandom with Sky Rojo.

The Spanish drama masterfully blends both action and black comedy and was co-created by Alex and Esther Martínez Lobato.

Back when season 1 premiered in March 2021, the tale of three prostitutes escaping their pimp instantly captivated audiences.

Fortunately, we’ve been able to chronicle Coral, Wendy, and Gina on the run ever since. On the other hand, the time has come to contemplate Sky Rojo season 4, but is it renewed?

Is Sky Rojo renewed for season 4 on Netflix?

Well, it has already been officially confirmed that Sky Rojo season 3 will serve as the final season in the series.

The third and final season premiered on Netflix on Friday, January 13th, and will offer fans the definitive conclusion of the central trio of characters.

There was no announcement regarding its cancellation, so it’s likely that Alex and Esther envisioned the project as a three-season arc from the very beginning, with the writers able to bring the story to an end without having to scramble to condense the remainder of the plot into just one season.

How many episodes in Sky Rojo season 3?

Sky Rojo season 3 is made up of just eight episodes in total.

This may come as no surprise considering the previous two seasons offered the same number of installments.

All eight episodes premiered on the same day and are now available on Netflix, with the series finale titled Gold, Frankincense, and Lead.

‘I was very sad to read the ending’

Miguel Ángel Silvestre (who plays Moisés) recently spoke to El Confidencial about feeling emotional upon learning season 3 would be the last one:

“I was very sad to read the ending, I started crying. It hurt a lot when I read it, I was very empty. I called Álex Pina because I needed to share everything that the outcome generated for me. I loved the ending, but I needed to talk long and hard with someone who knows very well the story about life, long-term judgment, second chances…”

He continued: “… and he told me a lot of things. You in this life are the people you surround yourself with and what you eat. And I think Moisés has been very unlucky in that regard.”

Sky Rojo is streaming exclusively on Netflix.
